I am pleased to extend an invitation to the ARMA Chapter membership to attend the 2017 Nuclear Information and Records Management (NIRMA) Conference being held August 6-9, 2017 in Summerlin, Nevada.  Please spread the word about the upcoming NIRMA Conference to your peers and constituents.  NIRMA is recognized as the community of practice for Information Management in the Nuclear Industry.

Industry Role
Supporting regulated nuclear and selected energy-related industries, agencies, and their regulators in development, implementation and administration of documents, records, and information management processes to facilitate cost-effective operations and regulatory compliance.
NIRMA is providing the guidance basis for electronic record keeping for supporting Generic Letter 88-18 and the soon-to-be-released supplement. NIRMA is, in fact, a standards-based organization under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is currently in process of establishing an ANSI-based standard for the configuration management of nuclear facilities. Other topics that NIRMA is engaged in include: Electronic Information Exchange (EIE), risk-informed regulations, data management, the "living documents" process, decommissioning, and license renewal.

Professional Certification
NIRMA has a professional alliance with the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) where advanced certification and recognition of Nuclear Information and Records Specialist (NS) is conferred for Certified Records Managers (CRM) who meet the NS qualifications.

As a NIRMA member, you are entitled to access the full array of our products and services, which includes: access to our website, technical guidelines, and position papers, proceedings from prior Conferences and access to our website’s Q&A section.
Membership is granted by either registering at our annual conference or by filling out the membership application that can be found below. Annual individual membership in NIRMA is $250. Corporate Memberships are available at two levels - Gold and Silver.
